If you do have to live there, it's best to ignore everyone, stay to yourself, and don't let your children associate with any of the neighbor kids. The landlords are best dealt with by paying the rent through the night drop, and keeping meetings as short and impersonal as possible. Keep all personal business to yourself, do not share anything that you absolutely do not have to. The best time to swim in the pool is when nobody else is present. Also, this place is not on the bus line, so if you do not have transportation of your own, it is advised to not move here. Also, Muslims/Arabs need not apply. They'll throw your application in the trash right after you leave. Actually witnessed this once myself. Also, no washer/dryer hookups. The laundromat is expensive, and the washers will ruin your clothes. Best to wash them at a relative or friend's home.
I lived there with my daughter from 2002 to 2008, and it was the worst place I'd ever lived. The staff were rude and intrusive, the neighbors were nosy and spiteful, and there was so much drama that it wasn't worth it. When I moved in, the carpet looked to be about 15 years old, the appliances looked like they'd been there since the place was built. The refrigerator had mold all through the interior, and the stove kept catching fire. They never replaced any of this, despite my many requests. Nepotism and favoritism were ubiquitous, with the favorites of the staff(usually long-time multi-generationers) getting the best stuff and even being permitted to ignore certain rules. The landlord at the time, Marilyn Wooliver, was a vitriolic racist who hated Arabs, and the assistant who became the manager later, Lisa Rucker, was also a rabid Arab-hater. When I got engaged in 2007, I was told that if I married my fiance I'd have to move because his Middle Eastern ancestry would trigger suspicion with Homeland Security. Also had to endure constant harassment from the other residents, and their calling the CPS at least twice a month. Most of the people there were either drunks or drug addicts, horrible parents, and many generations of the same family were living there at the same time. Almost everyone was related in some way, it was like a Jerry Springer nightmare and a Maury Povich paradise all rolled into one. Also had to pay for repairs that should have been free.
Think it's a pretty decent place
I don't even live here, I live on Chatham, but these people stole 2 of my bikes and egged my neighbor's house! I hear yelling and screaming from time to time. Most of the people that live here are drug addicts. Avoid at all costs. I wouldn't be here if I were paid to stay.
AWFUL PLACE TO LIVE! Maintenance man is awesome however he can only fix things to the extent management will let him. Black mold on the doors, junk on the porches, laundry gets stolen if they even have the machines in working order, kids bikes get stolen all the time, lot of pill heads (had one OD inside Apartments last year)
The only good things about the place was the pool and dishwasher, and that grills were permitted. Also quiet and the scenery was nice.
This is the absolute worst place to live!
