This place completely screwed us over. We reserved our truck a month in advanced for an early morning pick up. They called the evening before the day we were supposed to pick up our truck at 3:49 pm when the office closed at 4 to tell us they "over booked" and didn't have our truck. By the time we got the message the office was closed and we were stuck with no truck for the only day possible for us to move. Uhaul came through for us though at a comparable price!
I have rented a car from this location several times and always had a very good experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Great rental rates. I always found some good rental deals here. Best part - they allowed me to drop-off car after hours. You just need to park the car and slip in the key to drop box. This policy really makes it easier to rent for the single day trips and win me as a customer over other rental services.
Do NOT use this budget truck rental location. The customer service was inexcusable. In fact, I have never experienced customer service so poor in the United States. My wife reserved a truck two weeks in advance and even called the day before pick up to make sure everything was still in order. The agency operator assured us our truck would be ready at 8:00 AM the next day as planned. The next day upon arrival, the owners did not have a truck for us. They had only called to let us know that morning, but made absolutely no effort to solve the problem. They only wanted to get rid of us as fast as possible. Fortunately, I was able to contact the Budget location on Clinton Highway in Knoxville. The owner there was much more helpful and got us a truck. The Kingston Pike location would not even transfer our reservation to Clinton Highway. Avoid the Kingston Pike Budget location.
If I could give a zero star, I would. Their service is terrible. I reserved a truck and on the date I was supposed to pick it up, someone called me and told me there were nothing available for me. Then he said he would find a truck for me and he never called again. A few days later I found my credit card was charged for 50 dollars because of "no show". I had to call customer service to get my money back. They were not able to fulfill my reservation, they did not even remember to cancel my reservation. I don't know what they can do.
I made a mistake and rented a truck that was way too small. They were extremely accommodating and took very good care of me regardless. I would highly recommend them in the future.
