The customer service at New York and Company is horrible. It takes forever for your return to be credited back to your card, not so with other retailers. I'm just not shopping with them anymore, as there is always "some issue" when I do.
The manager @ West town mall is terrible. I bought a pair of jeans that I wore twice when I put them on a 3rd time they ripped. I just wanted to exchange for something different. She made the comment that they don't even sale those jeans anymore and couldn't do anything since I had no tags. So of course that is extremely irritating since i specifically go to this store so I have to worry about the "quality" or so I thought. She called customer service who told her they couldn't do anything unless the item was purchased online that it was up to her. So I asked to speak to whomever she reported to and told me how her GM would allow her to make her own decision in "her" store. I said that is exactly my point??? What the heck. So when she figured out what she said then tried lie about & text her GM Kevin to tell him to call. Of course call from him was received either. However no discredit or complaints ever on their other employees they have ALWAYS been helpful & pleasant. The problem with these companies is if i never went back to spend if the money i work for they will not be hurt or go out of business. So @ the end of the day even this review is pointless! They will have their "corporate" card to pull always. So keep your tags ladies even if you think nothing will happen just having a receipt does no good @ least not the West town mall location in Knoxville TN.
This was our first and last visit to a NY&Co store. My fiancée was looking for some new work pants, she found two that she liked, and asked an employee for the fitting room. I walked back to the entrance to wait for her, knowing it's a women's store and I didn't have any business in the fitting room area. The lady opened the door for her and walked out, seeing me standing outside the fitting rooms area as she went by. About 10 minutes goes by and no one has returned to check on her, so she sends me a text to go get another size for her to try on.
I found what she was looking for, since the store was practically a ghost town, and she was the only one in there I ran them in to her. As I was walking out the same employee that made eye contact with me waiting outside, was showing two women to the fitting room, she looks at me and very rudely yells across the room "sir you have to wait outside!" Seriously? I'm not in here because I want to be, I'm doing your job lady! Yelling across the room at me like I'm some pervert, especially in front of other customers is embarrassing to both myself and my fiancée. I'd understand if I was in there by myself, or had been in there waiting the whole time, but I wasn't and she knew that. And I'm willing to bet that had I been dressed "differently" me being in there wouldn't have been a problem in the first place.
I now know why this place was all but deserted at 6 pm on a Saturday night.
