I had the best lunch I have had in a long time today. Started off with the fiery roasted red pepper hummus. It was excellent and fresh; served with pita bread. Then I was served the best panini I have had in Knoxville. It was the ahi tuna panini and let me tell you, it is worth driving from wherever you are to try this dish. YUMMY! Best of all, the prices were so cheap! For $3.50 you can get a sushi roll that is the equivalent of 2 rolls anywhere else, and it was good. This is a must-eat frequently place, you wont be disappointed ; )
Based on more than 10 trips to Anaba and Nama in the past year, I would definitely say that Anaba is the best sushi in Knoxville. Ingredients are fresher, and the sushi rice alone sets them apart from ALL other sushi restaurants in town. As others have mentioned, the tempura cheesecake is not for the faint of heart (or those with heart conditions) but it is an incredible food experience. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner.
Great food and specials! Half price Tuna on Mondays. We will be back. Whoever said it was closed permanently is a moron....
We started off with the fiery roasted red pepper hummus as per a recommendation from a previous review. Then had half a crunchy tuna roll (love this sushi!) and half a spicy salmon roll. Followed it with a couple panini sandwiches (ahi tuna and the beef with caramelized onions). Finished with the tempura cheescake (which could feed anywhere from 2 to 4 people). Amazing presentation and taste. I highly recommend this place. It is quite a gem!
PS- Service was great (we went on a Sunday).
