Service was ok. Very messy. Mac n cheese was more of a cheese soup. Buffet line food looked old. Need to change pans out instead of just refilling. Manager should dress more appropriate.
Had a nice veteran day breakfast here. It was great. This Shoneys is not to bad. Some days are better than others but they always try hard and that's what counts for me. About the only American style buffet in West Knoxville with a salad bar that I know of if your not rich. I always get my money worth.
Yesterday we arrived at Shoney's at Walker Springs around 8pm. Potatoes tasted aluminum. The gravy was good. The potato salad was not cooked enough. Macaroni salad was good. Coleslaw was good. Fried Chicken tasted off. BBQ Chicken slices tasted funny like it was marinated in alcohol. Macaroni and Cheese was liquid. Cottage cheese tasted bland. My husband's unsweetened tea (with 1 packet of Shoney sweetener added) tasted sweeter than my Sweet Tea. And the first batch of rolls were too hard so he had to ask for some fresh rolls. Service was slower, maybe because it was evening? But still! The waitress was nice, she did give us refills. There was no jello and no waitress around to ask. Should I go to the kitchen and ask. When the bill arrived, they charged 10.29 each and not 19.99 meal deal for both. But Charlie the cashier fixed it. However, last time we are coming here.
