Hopefully the next visit will be the end of this and if the service is better I will reflect it in the review.
- the parts and service department -
Brought in my car due to an unexpected mechanical problem. So I did not have an appointment. They were dead on the money about how long it would take and sent Katie (who was wonderful from the beginning) to keep me up to date. Everyone there in each department is wonderful! I have bought four cars from there and have always been pleased with both sales and service.
Toyota of Knoxville was the best car buying experience I have ever had. The salesman Charleton provided excellent service, spent his time discussing all details about the vehicle. The sales team was great in a no hassle negotiation, and Scott who was in finance was extremely personable, and knew his job well that got us the rate, and payment we were looking for.
I NEVER DO THESE THINGS........ but I couldn't hold back expressing my experience! This was the most pleasant car buying experience I have ever encountered! My salesman was Jason Carson! I expressed to him the options I wanted in a 4Runner and my budget! Within that hour, no joke, that hour, he got back to me with the EXACT CAR I WANTED (which was in stock at that lot) and slightly UNDER THE BUDGET I Gave HIM!
Evidently the legendary Toyota manufacturing processes is not recognized in this department.
Fast forward again. I sat and waited over three hours again this time just for the guy to tell me that they only got the sun visor installed because they ordered the wrong part for the other one, seriously?! I asked him why it took over three hours to install ONE visor and he responded with a look that only a botched lobotomy victim should be able to muster followed by a lackluster "I don't know". Really guy? It took your technician over three hours to put in a visor and you're not even a little bit curious why? Then he pretty much blew me off and told me that my car was out the door and walked off.
Now I have to set up another appointment so they can finally get this fixed on a brand new car. But I wouldn't doubt it if someone there goes to order the part and sees that they already have one and try to install the wrong part again next time!
Fast forward to new appointment day for parts installation. I called in the morning to make sure that the appointment was still good, since I didn't get a notification like last time. The parts and service receptionist literally didn't say a word and just transfered me to someone else after I told her I was checking to make sure the appointment was good, like someone convinced her she only had a limited number of breaths and she was close to running out for the day.
For the very first time in my life, buying a new car was actually a pleasurable experience! Lenora Sheridan was very easy to work with, and she did not exert any pressure on me to buy. She explained the different options available and their price points, so I felt comfortable in making an informed decision.
I went to get a regular service and to inform them of two defective parts on a 2017 highlander that was bought there. It took them over three hours to change the oil an tell me that they don't have the parts needed! They said they would call me when the part was in and they didn't, instead I got a card in the mail.
