My husband and I recently found the car we were looking for on the CarMax app. The app is extremely user friendly. We requested a transfer and decided to purchase the vehicle. There was a bit of confusion on who our assigned sales associate was throughout the process since we called regarding a transfer. Once we made it onsite, our sales associate was amazing. The purchase process was easy and not extremely time consuming. Once we purchased the vehicle we had one minor repair which sent it to the body shop. CarMax did fantastic following up on a regular basis until they realized the vehicle would not be ready within the 4-5 day time frame originally communicated. It took several follow up calls from our end. Once we were able to get the vehicle back, the work was flawless. Overall it was a good experience but a few things could be tweaked to enhance the customer experience from beginning to end.

They are straight forward. It is what it is. Smart way to take care of business. It sets the task at hand in place right out the gate. You can buy or sale. I sold it was simple.

Went in to check out a vehicle I saw online. While I was there I asked for an appraisal for a trade in offer. (I know what my car is worth on kbb) They came back and offered 1/2 of what it's worth. They said the title report showed it had a junk/salvage title. I was confuse because I know the history of my car and I knew the title was clean. Well after I left I looked closer at the paperwork they gave me and saw that it had a section labeled junk/salvage records. THERE WAS NOTHING IN THAT SECTION. THE TITLE IS COMPLETELY CLEAN. this tells me either they don't know how to read their own reports, or they just didn't want to deal with me. Either way I'll never go back to them.

We had a GREAT experience at CarMax! We found the perfect car with a great sales person. Rita was patient and just a pleasure to work with. Do not hesitate to try CarMax in Knoxville. You’ll leave happy whether you purchase that day or not!

I had a great experience with CarMax and I believe it went as well as it did because of Greg Taylor. The truck I ended up purchasing was located in Boston. Greg helped me to locate it, get it shipped and within a week, it was here! (The system had said it could take up to twenty one days.) While that may not have been Greg's accomplishment, he did keep me informed every step of the way. And once it was delivered he adjusted his schedule to insure that he could meet me. At all times he was professional, thorough and attentive to my needs and requirements. I love my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT! Thanks Greg!
