3rd grade teacher for son was disrespectful and inexperienced. 4th grade teacher was amazing. 5th grade teacher was in her first year. She was so inexperienced and disrespectful that I took it to the principal. He was my old boss from a different school. Yes, tenured teacher speaking. So he sent it to assistant principal, who had never been in a real classroom but a library. We went around in circles of PROVABLE lies, until I took my son out to homeschool him for the remainder of the year. It is absolutely ridiculous!!! My husband and I both went to Farragut, and I am mortified at what it has become. What is even more unacceptable is that I DO know where the head principal started out. It is upsetting that NOTHING is being handled. When I asked to speak with him, Ms. Styles (ass. Principal) said "I am the 5th grade principal. So you need to speak with me". I returned her remark with "yes, but he is the HEAD principal". I was refused to speak with him, by HER!!! WHAT!?
Dumbest school ever it is uncivilized and the teachers are mean, if you moved from Northshore school zone to FIS that is bad kids do bad stuff there Northshore is way better you learn more and it is a neat school at Northshore
Take from it what you will. Just be informed please. The last comment made, is probably very true. I can see where their child would feel like a bad child. They are not being shown an example of good teaching our philosophy at the school. For that, as a licensed (now former tenured) teacher at Knox Co, I'm am deeply sorry.
Any ways, if you are looking to this to see if it is a right fit for your child, I can tell you that the majority of the teachers have never had other experience outside of Farragut. So they have a warped sense of "acceptable" teaching and behaviors. If you don't fit in their box, you don't fit in the school. If your child could possibly talk out of turn, they will either publicly embarrass them, or publicly embarrass them and make them feel that they are a horrible person. Lol I can't tell you how many times I had my child come off the bus with his head hanging. He is a good kid with good grades. I did defend them once and that backfired on me horribly. I went down there only to find that my child was in tears and very honestly told me what had happened. I still tried to speak with him, and was told I couldn't speak with him outside, and the ass. Principal would not show me to with him in private with out poking her head in multiple times. I am sure to make sure my child didn't sway what I was thinking. That inturn caused a very unacceptable phone call from them THE FOLLOWING DAY, and a meeting the one at that in which I removed him from the school. There have been 4 kids removed from the school this year alone for the exact same reason. You should also know, when I spoke my concerns about this to Ms. Styles, I was told that it doesn't concern my child so she refused to speak to me about it. Ahhhhh but Ms. Styles, it does concern my child. As well as, ALL of the students in the school.
