I needed a new card I waited maybe 10 min then once I was called to the window I was out in less than 5 mins the guy was very friendly and helpful. Best experience I have ever had a social security office.

My wife was supposed to have a phone interview today, and no one called!! She gave them an extra hour incase they were behind, and still nothing. They put in the system that they called me 3 times, and they couldn't leave a voicemail. TOTAL LIES!!! So she went to the office and was disrespected and humiliated by desk 12! The man literally laughed at her for stating her opinion that the worker calling lied. Then rudely asked "Your appointment was at 1, why did you wait so long to do anything about it?" She was on hold for more than an hour, trying to tell them what was going on, and they didn't even help, just worried about shoving her another appointment 2 months away!!
DO NOT DO PHONE INTERVIEWS!!!! OR THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!!!! I dont feel like my wife deserved to be treated like a dog, by someone who's supposed to HELP us!!
Mr Brewer was kind a patient with me. After taking off so much time just trying to get a claim filed for survivor benefits for my children, i finally was able to file it thanks to Mr. Brewer. He went above and beyond even though i was missing a form. He allowed me to complete the whole process, and he gave me a prepaid envelope to mail in the final form. Since the Blount county social security office shut down, we are all forced to go to Knoxville's office, which i am sure is underfunded and understaffed to accommodate so many counties.
Very fast and helpful as long as you take yoour turn and go prepared
I called the social security office with a simple question. The lady I spoke with was very rude and unhelpful. I certainly hope when I visit the office the reception will be better.
