Typical megachurch. Not my cup of tea.
We didn't want to attend a large church, but we kept being pulled back to CSPC. It has been a WONDERFUL church home for 20 years: awesome worship experiences; solid, inspiring, and challenging Bible teaching; and brothers and sisters whose love for the Lord leads them to reach out to each other, to the community, and to the world.
My wife and I were visiting from Northern Virginia last summer...we're trying to retire and get away from the uber liberal washington DC environment. What did we find? A pastor who apparently can't resist making political statements from the pulpit. A pastor who prays for 1/2 hour about nothing but politics. He didn't mention Trump but his antipathy and RESIST attitude toward the administration was obvious. I think the guy is from Boston and fancies himself as more of a deep political/socialogical commentor. We were sad. The liberals are moving South...taking over Tennessee. Why can't these guys stick to the Bible? We did like the music...very impressive.
