Came here for the eclipse as it was just inside totality. Got a little crowded eventually, people parking everywhere they could. Estimate nearly 600 to 700 people, lots of families, kids in the river, bbqs going. Think everyone had a good time and everyone enjoyed the eclipse. Only negative - 1 lonely portapotty. Don't think the city realized how many people were going to show up.
Nice quiet place. It has a boat launch and some decent walking trails. Scenic place to visit. Not too far from town.
Great view. Decent fishing. A lot of idiots out on boats and jetskis that come too close to shore. I go about once or twice a week to do some catfishing. Don't eat the fish though
My favorite place for a morning jog. Two boat launches, great picnic area, 50 and 70 ft cliff jumps.
I attended the Marine Mud run at Melton hill park. Had the best time.
