In the summer there is sand volleyball and a sectioned off area for swimming. They also have several events on the weekends during the summer.
Lovely park by the water. It has benches, sells duck feed so you can feed the ducks, has a playground, and a swimming area (good for children). You can also canoe, kayak, or sail here.
This is one of our favorite parks around town. It has a great walking trail. If you go on the weekend, you can rent boats and paddle boards, but be prepared to search for a parking place or to park in the field. The playground is a bit small, especially after a storm took part of it out, but the kids don't seem to mind.
I come here with my daughter and her children. There is a short walking trail. There is a playground that is suitable for very young children. There is also one for older ones. My young grandchildren don't seem to make a distinction. There are fowl to feed band machines that will take your money and dispense you a small amount of food to do this with. The bathrooms have always been clean. There is a swimming area where young kids can throw balls to be swept away by the wind. If you're lucky they will impact on the Levee that juts out from the shore and you can retrieve it. I think there is a concession stand but we always bring our own food and drink so I can't promise that my impression is correct.
I love this place! There is a nice well maintained playground for the kids and a walking trail that can be made longer or cut in half by design. If you don't feel like walking you can sit on one of the benches or swings and enjoy the beautiful views of the water.
We went here for the eclipse and thought it would be super crowded. It was great. I just wished I knew to bring my swim suit. Parking is good but not so much the porta potties. They should have more garbage disposals.
