I first contacted the owner in early January and told her of my travel plans. I was not picky, all we wanted for our honeymoon was a beach setting in a decent price range. I was told that our plans were very doable and it would take a day or two to compile a list of destinations to pick from. I never heard back from her, but I understood that it could possibly take longer. I got caught up in wedding plans, as my brother is getting married a short two months before me and have two weddings to travel for, and forgot about it myself. I realized in mid February that I had never heard back from her. I was upset at this realization and I emailed them saying they had one more day to get back with me, even if it was that they needed more time. I was contacted and she was very apologetic and she assured me she'd get started. She said it was likely to take another couple of days but she'd get back on it. She emailed me a day or two later saying she was almost done and she'd get on it more than afternoon. I still have never heard back. I have now booked my dream honeymoon through Hotwire and will never attempt to use a travel agent again. This would have been my first time but I'm convinced, booking yourself is MUCH better.
The woman was very helpful and was kind enough to meet with us for a couple of hours on a Saturday. However, we went in telling her that we wanted to go to either St. Martin or the Virgin Islands and she completely turned the entire meeting towards going to a Sandal's resort in Jamaica. I think Etherson Travel works almost exclusively with Sandals resorts because they have about 20 awards on a bookshelf in their office as well as a plethora of Sandal's catalogs. It was just kind of annoying to go in wanting one thing but then leaving after three hours of her talking incessantly about Jamaica and the owner of Sandal's without talking about the two places we actually wanted to go. We ended up spending about 2 hours at home booking our honeymoon on expedia instead.
